* June/July 2010

Hello to everyone from Rex Heathcote Furniture it's news time again.

I always look forward to this time of the year as its a few days past the shortest day and we are on the downhill run to a little bit warmer weather and lengthening days.  There has been lots of rain and lots of frosts.  Today its "crunchy" underfoot but, the clarity in clear winter days is to be marveled at.  You can almost see the branches of trees in surrounding hills.  All the imported trees have just about lost their leaves leaving them naked and spindly.  When I get a chance the walk to work along the river clears the head and forces one to contemplate the rhythm  of life.  It really is a beautiful time of the year.

What amazes me is how the bird life on the river survive the cold.  They are so small and haven't got warm cloths on.  But, there they are swimming around quite happily it seems.

We are very busy here at Rex Heathcote Furniture getting ready yet again for the major furniture trade show "Furnitex" in Melbourne at the Exhibition Centre (Jeff's Shed) from 15th-18th July.  We will be on stand B11.  As I have mentioned in the last newsletter it's a trade only show so, if any of you out there in beautiful Melbourne would like to come, email us here and I will arrange for an invite.

The dining table and chairs are coming along beautifully.  These will be added to our Extraordinary collection on the site before we go.  The dining table is an extension table that extends from 2m to 3.3m.  So, it really does make a difference to large family gatherings and, the Christmas spread, adding up to 8 or more at the table with an old school revised extension system.

This year we are getting the stand custom built with a lot of help from our friend Zinta Jurgans Heard from CCD Studio in Melbourne.  Its really turning out to be lots of fun.

I will take photos for the next news page.

Till then.

Cheers,

Rex
